AMERICAN GIRL ARTIST JOY ALLEN TO MAKE SURTEX DEBUT - In-Booth Promotions to Include Book Signing and Doll Giveaway -

Acclaimed American Girl® artist Joy Allen will
debut her new line of artwork - Joy Allen® Illustrations - at SURTEX®, May 16-18, 2004, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Center. Allen's participation in
the market signifies the launch of her license market merchandising. Most recently, Joy Allen illustrated the early reader books for Hopscotch Hill SchoolTM, American Girl's new line of dolls, books and classroom-themed play sets for girls ages four to six.
An American Girl book signing will take place in Joy Allen's booth (1320), on
Monday, May 17, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, where SURTEX attendees may also
register to win a free American Girl Hopscotch Hill School doll and book. The
Hopscotch Hill School line is a 2004 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio® Platinum Award
Winner.

Joy Allen began illustrating picture books in 1997 after a long career in
graphic design. Joy's unique style has helped her gain immediate acceptance in
the highly competitive children's book market with over 40 publications in mass
market, trade, education, religious, early readers, and picture books. Allen's
illustrations for Mud Pie Annie earned an Excellence in Media 2002 Silver Angel
Award.

(Booth 1401) will conduct an in-booth book signing of "Jan Dressler's Guide to
Beautiful Stenciling" on May 16, 17 and 18, from 1:00 to 3:00pm. A complete list
